Ağlasun Municipality in Burdur province has opted for domestically produced hydraulic cylinders to meet its needs. The municipality acquired an 8-ton hydraulic cylinder manufactured by Harmaner, an OSTİM-based company. Harmaner, a member of the Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster (İŞİM), produces 8 and 13-ton domestic soil compactors.
“Let’s support our local company”
Ağlasun Mayor Ali Ulusoy stated that they initially wanted to prioritize a domestically produced machine for procurement. Ulusoy noted that Ahmet Serttaş, the mayor of Altınyayla, another district of Burdur, had recommended the hydraulic cylinder manufactured by Harmaner company.
Highlighting the importance of domestic production, Ali Ulusoy made the following statement: “We met with the company owner, Adem Harman. It's a local company, and they stand behind their product. The domestically produced cylinder is high-quality, has a robust engine, is easy to use, comfortable, and has low fuel consumption. New features have been added to the machine in the 2020 model. Instead of paying exorbitant amounts of money to foreign brands, we decided to support our local company. We set out with the goal of having this machine manufactured here. May God bless Adem Harman for helping us. We chose Harmaner, an OSTİM company.”
“We serve as a reference for all municipalities”
Underlining that they will also recommend Harmaner hydraulic cylinders and other domestically produced machines to municipalities in the region, Mayor Ulusoy stated, “We will be a reference for all municipalities in the Mediterranean Region, including Burdur, Isparta, and Antalya. We invited Mr. Adem; we said, ‘Come and show the other municipalities how to use it.’ They shouldn't waste money on foreign brands. They should support our domestic company. We especially thank our OSTİM President Orhan Aydın and Adem Harman for their interest.”
