Ömer Faruk Yıldırım, Chairman of the Cizre Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly, Barbaros Ceylan, Board Member of the Hamilik School Foundation, and Ahmet Albayrak, Deputy General Manager of Kuwait Turkish Participation Bank, visited OSTİM.
Highlighting Cizre's strategic importance, Ömer Faruk Yıldırım drew attention to the opportunities the city offers to businessmen and investors. Stating that Cizre is advantageously located for access to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, Yıldırım said, "Products can be delivered from Cizre to Dubai in 42 hours."
Women's touch in Cizre's economy
Yıldırım also spoke about the work they have done for the development of the city, providing information about the Cizre Women's Entrepreneurship Production and Business Cooperative, founded by women from Cizre, and stating that the locally-designed ceramic products produced by women entrepreneurs contribute to the economy and the promotion of the region's historical and cultural values.
Stating that women's labor has also begun to contribute to the development of Cizre, Yıldırım said: “We want to learn the clustering model and develop this cooperative established by women using a clustering approach to add value to our city's economy. We are working to develop Cizre through activities that highlight tourism, culture, gastronomy, and women's labor.”
Babaros Ceylan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Hamilik School Foundation, spoke about the social and cultural activities they carried out in the city with the Hamilik School Cizre Revitalization Group.
Ahmet Albayrak, Deputy General Manager of Kuwait Turk Participation Bank, stated that they want to cooperate in investment funds.
“Let’s cooperate with the Organized Industrial Zone”
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they would be pleased to share all their experience in clustering and development with Cizre.
Highlighting the synergy that would result from the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience, Aydın said, “Let's establish official cooperation with the Cizre Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). Let's work with the vocational high school in the city on vocational training. Let's evaluate the possibilities for Ostim Technopark to open an incubation center in the region.”
