Regarding OSTİM's activities in Uzbekistan;
A cooperation agreement was signed between OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate and Ohangaron Tech Industrial in November 2022 for the establishment of the Ohangaron Tech Industrial Zone, planned to be located in the Ohangaron District of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The 140-hectare area allocated for the Copper Specialized Organized Industrial Zone includes the following for the region:
Preparation of master plans
Preparation of zoning and implementation zoning plans
Preparation of all infrastructure implementation plans and reports
Preparation of special legislation for the region
Completion of feasibility study on the future of the copper sector,
The works were carried out under the auspices and coordination of the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Directorate and were completed and handed over to the management of Ohangaron Tech Industrial in October 2023.
Within the scope of the studies conducted, all planning and the management structure of the region were carried out based on the understanding that a model of the OSTİM ecosystem should be implemented in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Furthermore, in collaboration with OSTİM Technical University and Fırat University, a comprehensive feasibility study was completed and submitted to the Ministry of Geology of Uzbekistan. This study covers the present and future of the copper sector, which is of strategic importance for our brotherly Uzbekistan, and includes the transformation of copper into higher value-added products and the location of advanced technological investments in this region.
As a result of the successful completion of this project, Uzbekistan's approach to establishing and operating industrial zones has changed, and the OSTİM Ecosystem Model has become a model application in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek-Turkish Organized Industrial Zone project, which was decided by the Government of Uzbekistan on December 15, 2023, to be managed by OSTİM upon the will of the Presidency of Uzbekistan, is being implemented through OSTİM Global Project and Technology Inc. and its subsidiary Ostim Global Turkish Classification Directorate, established for Uzbekistan.
