Vocational training for development

OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they were thrilled that OSTİM Vocational and Technical Education Center was among the top 50 in terms of revenue generation.

Aydın emphasized that development, quality production, exports, and employment cannot be achieved without vocational training.

Aydın, discussing the impact of vocational education on development, stated, “This is where the importance of vocational education comes to the fore. Development doesn't happen without industrialization. Development requires qualified personnel. And to train qualified personnel, vocational education is necessary.”

Aydın, pointing out that vocational training requires not only knowledge but also skills, stated the following: “We value vocational training in every environment we are in. This news, that our OSTİM Vocational Training Center is among the top 50, has excited us.”

"A successful project has been carried out in the region, and production has taken place while students are receiving education. It is good that this production continues, provided that it does not compete with the private sector and the state does not gain an advantage."

Aydın also provided information about the training centers operating in OSTİM, stating, "The training centers in our region are; OSTİM Vocational Training Center, OSTİM Martyr Alper Zor Anatolian Technical and Industrial Vocational High School, Gazi University Technical Sciences Vocational School, and OSTİM Technical University. We support collaborations in the broadest possible way."

"We are trying and will continue to do everything we can to improve its quality. We will also submit some suggestions to the Ministry to transform the Vocational High School and the Vocational Training Center, also known as the Apprenticeship Training Center, in our region into competitive schools in the new period. ASELSAN has made a breakthrough in developing and supporting the Vocational High School in our region. We wholeheartedly support and congratulate them on this," he said.

“More support should be provided to increase revenues”

Ibrahim Karakoç, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Apprenticeship Training and Education Foundation, pointed out that vocational education needs to be further improved and developed by the Ministry of National Education.

Evaluating the revolving fund activities carried out in vocational education, Karakoç said, “In order to increase these revenues and make education more efficient, the Ministry of National Education should support this system more in terms of curriculum, workshops, and student preference for these vocational and technical schools. Because if we do not equip our young people with a profession, these revenues will not increase, but will decrease even further.”

Karakoç stated that revolving funds must be strengthened and implemented in vocational and technical schools to better train students, adding, “This will be much more beneficial in making these schools self-sufficient. If we graduate our students with better skills, these revenues will also increase. Beyond the revenue, these students will enter the market well-equipped. We will do everything we can to improve vocational and technical education.”
