OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın provided Uslan and his colleagues with information about OSTİM's general structure, institutions, and projects, and explained the collaborative activities between the two organizations. Aydın stated that they wanted to develop and continue these joint efforts.
“OSTİM is Gazi University’s Organized Industrial Zone”**
Uslan, who is also an engineer, made important statements regarding industry and production in OSTİM, which he considers his home and where university-industry collaboration has been successfully implemented, after taking over the rector's position.
Rector Uslan stated that Gazi University has a long-standing history and underlined the importance they place on industry and production.
"To achieve our 2023 export targets of $500 billion, we must produce knowledge and technology," said Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan, commenting on OSTİM's corporate structure: "Thank you for hosting us with such a strong team. The right institutions have come together at the right address."
Pointing to the necessity of innovation and R&D, Uslan noted: "Knowledge and technology have no mass. We talk about price per kilogram in export figures, but knowledge and technology have no mass. What we have to produce is knowledge and technology."
During the rector candidacy process, perhaps due to our background as engineers, we tried to offer grounded, realistic perspectives. We are on the same page as the OSTİM administration regarding the framework they are trying to create. Universities that claim to be large institutions need to shift direction and focus on postgraduate studies, research, and innovation.
Gazi University makes significant contributions in every field. We trust and believe in our graduates. We are the university with the most graduates in OSTİM. OSTİM is Gazi University's Organized Industrial Zone. Being in OSTİM means being in our home."
