Indonesian Ambassador to Ankara, Achmad Rizal Purnama, along with the Embassy's Economic Counselor Yudhi Ardian and First Secretary Ika Permata Sari Silalahi, visited OSTİM.
The Indonesian Embassy delegation met with OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster Board Chairman Yaşar Çelik, OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster Board Chairman Fatin Dağçınar, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Foreign Trade Coordinator Esma Akyüz, and other cluster managers to exchange views on sectoral collaborations.
The economy is the priority.
Ambassador Achmad Rizal Purnama stated that the priority in developing relations between Indonesia and Turkey is the economy. He noted that since starting his post in Ankara, the majority of his meetings have been with private sector companies, adding, “I value the defense, energy, construction, and health sectors. Indonesian companies should cooperate with companies operating in these sectors in OSTİM [Istanbul Tourism and Industry Association]. During my visits in the last month, an Indonesian company decided to invest in Turkey in the geothermal field. I believe that our collaborations should also progress in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.”
The Ambassador noted that the cooperation process between Turkey and Indonesia could be advanced with the contribution of OSTİM, and stated, “OSTİM is a very good model; we should examine it more closely and obtain more detailed information. We should work on how we can adapt it to Indonesia. Let's pair OSTİM with an industrial zone in Indonesia and ensure the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience.”
“You can open your liaison office in OSTİM”
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they are aware that Indonesia and Türkiye, both among the D-8 countries, offer significant opportunities for each other. Expressing his pleasure at hosting the ambassador at OSTİM, Aydın said, “As OSTİM, let's pair an industrial zone, a technopark, and a university in Indonesia. This would be a very good concrete start for us.”
Aydın noted that they were ready to take a proactive role in developing trade collaborations between Indonesia and Turkey, and offered the Ambassador, “You can open your liaison office in OSTİM to develop trade collaborations with Indonesia. You can use our facilities.”
Following the meeting at the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Directorate, the Ambassador and his delegation visited the Ostim Technopark Prota Technology Production Workshop, Doratek, a member of the OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster, and EMGE, a member of the OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA), and received information about their products and production technologies.
