Mohammed Shyaa Al-Sudani, Member of the Iraqi Parliament representing Baghdad and former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, visited OSTİM together with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal, President of the Middle East Research Center.

Highlighting the importance of relations between Iraq and Turkey, Mohammed Shyaa Al-Sudani emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is special due to the shared characteristics of their peoples.

Sudani, recalling that the first companies to come to Iraq after 2003 were Turkish companies, said, “Due to the common characteristics of the people of the two countries and the quality of the work of Turkish companies, Turkish companies are welcomed in all cities of Iraq. It is important for us that Turkish companies work in Iraq and Baghdad.”

Stating that the Iraqi government prioritizes domestic production and allocates land to investors, Member of Parliament Mohammed Shyaa al-Sudani proposed that OSTİM establish and operate a facility in Iraq.

OSTİM: The Beginning of Industrialization in Ankara

OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın noted that OSTİM is the region where industrialization began in Ankara. Aydın explained that OSTİM's prominent sectors throughout Turkey include construction and industrial machinery, defense and aerospace, medical equipment, rail systems, renewable energy, rubber, and communication technologies.

Orhan Aydın emphasized that they are ready to share their knowledge and experience in the planning, operation, internationalization, and vocational training of industrial zones to be established in Iraq.

Abdullah Çörtü, General Manager of OSTİM Yatırım A.Ş., provided information about the company's social and cultural activities in Iraq. Emphasizing the importance they place on Iraq, Çörtü described the production facilities and social projects they have implemented in Kirkuk, Nasiriyah, and Baghdad.
