KOMATEK 2015, the 14th Construction and Industrial Machinery, Technology and Equipment Specialized Fair, one of the most important trade fair organizations in Turkey for the construction and industrial machinery sector, was held at the Ankara Atatürk Cultural Center between May 6-10, 2015. With a total area of 125,000 square meters and 505 participating companies from 25 countries, KOMATEK 2015, the largest fair in Eurasia and the 4th largest in Europe, is estimated to have been visited by 35,000 people.
The fair, organized with the support of the leading companies in the sector in Turkey, namely the Business and Construction Machinery Cluster (İŞİM), OSTİM, İMDER, İSDER and ARÜSDER, attracted considerable interest.
The İŞİM Cluster, participating in the fair, also provided its members with a dedicated area of approximately 2000 m2. Having begun preparations for the fair in the last months of 2014, the İŞİM Cluster worked individually with its members, participating with a total of 40 companies. Throughout the fair, the Board of Directors visited all members, listened to their requests, and gauged the pulse of the sector. The İŞİM Cluster also had the opportunity to introduce itself in detail to all domestic and international visitors at its stand. During the fair, the İŞİM Cluster hosted visitors from many countries around the world, including Ukraine, Russia, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. A significant step was taken during these meetings: discussions were held with Mr. Yubing Ban, the director of the China Construction Machinery Corporation, regarding collaboration between the China Construction Machinery Association and the Construction and Industrial Machinery Cluster (İŞİM). The İŞİM Cluster displayed brochures from its 134 member companies at its stand for five days, once again emphasizing the strength of clustering and domestic production.
On May 8th, the third day of the fair, the İŞİM cluster hosted a Networking and Collaboration Cocktail at its booth with the participation of 300 people. The cocktail, organized by the İŞİM cluster, brought together officials from public institutions, all municipalities in Ankara, the private sector, contractors, associations, and cluster members. The cocktail, which brought together important players in the sector, attracted great interest at the Komatek fairgrounds.
