Dr. Diomande Moussa E. Farakhan, President of the Single Employers Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Republic of Ivory Coast (CPU-PME.CI), and Diomande Mamadou, General Manager of the Industrial Infrastructure Development and Management Company (SOGEDI), a state-owned enterprise of the Republic of Ivory Coast, visited Turkey to observe Turkey's experiences in industrialization and evaluate potential cooperation opportunities. They inaugurated the CPU-PME.CI liaison office at the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate.
The Ivorian delegation signed a letter of intent with Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, aiming to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.
“We are ready for all collaborations to benefit from your experience”
SOGEDI General Manager Diomande Mamadou stated that they visited OSTİM to exchange views on cooperation opportunities between the two countries, drawing attention to Turkey's experience in industrialization. Explaining that they aim to industrialize their country and plan to establish industrial zones in every city for this purpose, Mamadou said, “We are ready for all collaborations to benefit from Turkey's experience. Even if OSTİM wants to establish an industrial zone under its own management in our country, we will assist them with the support of our government. We can participate as partners in your investments in our country. Or you can operate with your own investments.”
“We can share Turkey’s experience”
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, stated that they could cooperate with institutions in the Republic of Ivory Coast. Pointing out that OSTİM is an example of an industrial ecosystem composed of SMEs and a model of entrepreneurial success, Aydın said, "By cooperating with the Confederation and SOGEDI, we can transfer Turkey's industrialization experience to the Republic of Ivory Coast."
Wishing success to the OSTİM liaison office of the Confederation of SMEs of the Republic of Ivory Coast, President Aydın said: “Let's bring OSTİM, Ankara and Turkey together with our companies in Ivory Coast to facilitate cooperation. Our students from Ivory Coast who are studying at OSTİM Technical University should also be in contact with the liaison office and the Confederation regarding the development of these collaborations.”
CPU-PME.CI's OSTİM liaison office will operate under the coordination of Esma Akyüz, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Foreign Trade Coordinator.
Following the opening of the liaison office, Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM OSB, Diomande Moussa E. Farakhan, President of CPU-PME.CI, and Diomande Mamadou, General Manager of SOGEDI, signed a letter of intent with the aim of developing cooperation between the two countries.
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı briefed the Ivorian delegation on OSTİM's history, development processes, and current activities. Arıcı also described the work undertaken by OSTİM in the establishment of the Ohangaron Tech Industrial Zone in Uzbekistan, modeled after the OSTİM project.
