OSTİM's traditional Iftar program was held with wide participation. The Iftar, attended by numerous representatives from the worlds of industry, politics, public administration, NGOs, and diplomacy, had 'Jerusalem: Preparing the Pulpit' as its theme this year.
Understanding Jerusalem
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın thanked the participants for enriching the OSTİM iftar (fast-breaking) dinner. Stating that they celebrate the iftar programs together with OSTİM's stakeholders, institutions, organizations, and friends, Orhan Aydın said, “We think that today should have meaning, as we have so many guests together every year. In previous years, we set a theme for each Ramadan; we followed different themes such as Vecihi Hürkuş, Nuri Demirağ, and Somalia together. This year's agenda is Jerusalem. We have all lived together over time. Jerusalem is not just one of the cities; Jerusalem constitutes the center of our lives and the events happening in our country, region, and the world.”
Mayor Aydın emphasized the importance of Jerusalem, saying, "Jerusalem is a critical and strategic city; when we understand it, we can understand and resolve many things. It is also considered the center of all sacred beliefs and religions. It is very precious to us; Jerusalem is our honor."
Following the screening of a short film about the pulpit of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the President of OSTİM stated that OSTİM also has its own pulpits, adding that they are waiting for young people to place these pulpits. He then posed the question, "Where is our pulpit?" to the chairmen of the clusters, which they consider to be OSTİM's pulpits. The cluster chairmen who spoke shared their corporate visions and goals in their respective sectors, conveying messages about domestic and national production and branding.

Speaking at the iftar program, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Naci Bostancı said, “We saw that each pulpit was ready in its place. But while listening to my colleagues, I understood that when all these pulpits are united, OSTİM is ready to place a pulpit on the global world. Not just in certain sectors, but hopefully it will place those pulpits on the world as well.”
Bostancı, emphasizing that the 'O' in the OSTİM logo represents the world as well as the Middle East, said: “This shows OSTİM's horizon. OSTİM's horizon is not limited to the Middle East! Now the whole world forms OSTİM's horizon. Undoubtedly, OSTİM's horizon is like this, and so is Turkey's horizon. The horizon of every business sector in Turkey, and of everyone living in this country, should be the whole world. A developing country cannot confine itself to narrow areas.”
“Production is absolutely the foundation of everything. OSTİM is doing this admirably. The duty of politics is to pave the way for everyone who produces, sweats, and grows the bread for this country. If there is an obstacle in their way, it is to remove it. We, as politicians, know our duty,” said the experienced politician, adding, “Tonight, together, we shared a small piece of that bread we are trying to grow. Sharing bread is important; while sharing bread, people revive the bonds of brotherhood once again, and together they grow that bread not only for themselves, but first for the country, then for the oppressed and innocent in various parts of the world, for everyone. This is the horizon of OSTİM, this is the horizon of Turkey. Many thanks to everyone who contributed.”
