The laboratory, which will meet the critical testing needs of the energy sector with domestic resources, was established at OSTİM Technical University through a university-industry collaboration and put into service for the energy sector.

In the laboratory, designed by OSTİM Technical University Technology Transfer Office and developed domestically by Korucu Makine Elektrik A.Ş., a member of OSTİM Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster (OSTİM ENERJİK), tests within the scope of the IEC TR 62730 standard will be carried out.

The laboratory, where the first 5,000-hour aging test was successfully completed, was approved by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ).

The opening ceremony of the laboratory was attended by OSTİM Board Chairman and OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Erbay, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Serdar Müldür, KOSGEB OSTİM Director Ali Rıza Çataldağ, OSTİM ENERJİK Board Chairman Yaşar Çelik, Korucu Makina Board Chairman Nuri Korucu, Board Member Hakan Korucu, industrialists and academics.

This was a great example of university-industry collaboration.

OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın emphasized that this was a fine example of a collaborative effort involving both university and industry. “We have realized the project we envisioned,” said Aydın, adding: “We can implement similar projects in our other laboratories. This has been a valuable undertaking for our country, our region, and our company. I would like to thank everyone involved from OSTİM Technical University and Korucu Makina. OSTİM is the university of industrialists, and in this sense, we can develop many more diverse projects. In fact, every workshop needs a university. The important thing is to bring them together. I believe that OSTİM Technical University is the most suitable university in Ankara for this purpose.”
