The program, held at the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Conference Hall, covered the topics of R&D, procurement, quality, manufacturing engineering, and auxiliary industry evaluation and development.

Progress is made faster with strong subcontractors.

Speaking at the opening of the program, OSSA Chairman A. Mithat Ertuğ stated that out of over 200 members, 60 SMEs in OSSA hold AS9100 certification and 50 have ERP systems. Noting that the number of certified companies is increasing every day, Ertuğ said, "Our goal is to strengthen the infrastructure of all our members."

Ertuğ noted that OSSA members have also started producing subsystems, stating, "This allows you to see the capabilities of each of our companies, and as our slogan says, we are stronger together. Today, companies with strong subcontractors are able to progress faster in the world."

Target market: Europe

Murat Erenoğlu, Business Development Specialist at Nurol Makina, explained that Nurol Holding operates in the construction, defense, energy, mining, and tourism sectors.

Erenoğlu stated that the company's production facilities in Sincan 1st Organized Industrial Zone, which operate in the defense sector, possess national and NATO facility security certificates. He noted that R&D expenditures have increased more than 18 times in the last 6 years, that the company has grown 11 times in the same period, and that 75% of its 2018 revenue came from exports.

The company representative, who also provided information about export markets, emphasized that they export to African, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian countries and aim to export to Europe as soon as possible.

Erenoğlu stated that they achieved a 95% platform production rate and explained that they aimed for maximum procurement from their suppliers in their production.

“We aim to be the interface in localization efforts”

Ahmet Paşaoğlu, Head of the Auxiliary Industry Evaluation and Development Department, noted that they aim to improve collaborations with their existing subcontractors.

Paşaoğlu explained the application methods for becoming a supplier, stating that companies can apply to become suppliers by filling out the supplier evaluation form found on their website.

Ahmet Paşaoğlu emphasized that the criteria were to create alternative companies that could meet quality expectations and support capacity increase and product development strategies.

Paşaoğlu, sharing his views on his suppliers, said, “We aim to develop a common language and stakeholder relationship with our auxiliary industries, and to act as an interface in all kinds of improvement and localization efforts. Technical support and training are indispensable for us.”
