The Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO), Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), Ankara Commodity Exchange (ATB), MÜSİAD Ankara Branch, TÜMSİAD Ankara Branch, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, İvedik Organized Industrial Zone, and the Ankara Civil Society Organizations Platform, all united under the umbrella of Platform Ankara, issued a joint statement against terrorism at a ceremony hosted by the ATO.

Gürsel Baran, Chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATO) Board of Directors, who read the joint statement on behalf of the platform, stated that the Ankara business community condemns all forms of terrorism, especially PKK, ISIS, and FETÖ, and added, "We also condemn those who support terrorism and those who seek refuge in terrorism." Expressing their full support for the state in the fight against terrorism, Baran noted the following:

“We have seen these games many times before, and we have foiled them all. God willing, we will foil all such games in the future as well. For us, who have forged a common destiny in these lands, who share a common past, who look to a common future with hope, and who believe in brotherhood, this country will remain our homeland forever. With determination, we will protect our unity and solidarity even more. We will be one voice, one heart against terrorism. May God increase the strength and patience of every individual who loves their homeland, and may He keep our unity everlasting.”

“A dirty game is being played”

Stating that Turkey is going through a critical period, Baran said, “A dirty game is being played against our country with various proxy and puppet terrorist organizations such as PKK, ISIS, and FETÖ. Through terrorist attacks, coup attempts, and economic games, they are constantly trying to obstruct our progress and disrupt the stability and peace of our country.”

Baran stated that the harshest blow to the vile forces was dealt by the Turkish Nation, which "waged a struggle worthy of epics at the cost of their lives" during the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, and added, "The forces of evil should know that, as in the past, our noble nation, united, alive, as one body and one heart, will foil all their dirty plans and scenarios."

“The only language they know is treachery”

Baran, drawing attention to the fact that the terrorist attack in Istanbul took place on December 10th, World Human Rights Day, and on the eve of Mawlid al-Nabi, a very important occasion for the Islamic world, said, "Once again we have seen that terrorist organizations have no regard for any human values or sacred things. The only language they know is treachery."

Baran emphasized that some countries that do not distance themselves from terrorist organizations like the PKK and FETÖ, and fail to take a stance against terrorism, cannot speak on democracy, law, and human rights. He called on the international community to act sincerely and unite in the face of the scourge of terrorism engulfing the world.

ATO President Baran offered his condolences to those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Istanbul and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The meeting was attended by ATO Board Chairman Gürsel Baran, ASO Board Chairman Nurettin Özdebir, ATB Board Chairman Faik Yavuz, MÜSİAD Ankara Branch President İlhan Erdal, TÜMSİAD Ankara Branch President Vahit Ayazoğlu, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone President Orhan Aydın, İvedik Organized Industrial Zone President Hasan Gültekin, and Ankara Civil Society Organizations Platform and TÜSİAV Vice President Mustafa Zengin.
