The 2016 General Assembly Meeting of the S.S. OSTİM Small Industrial Site Construction Cooperative was held with the participation of its members. Following the formation of the General Assembly Presidium, chaired by Zeki Sayın and consisting of Necati Olgun and Mithat Ertuğ, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Orhan Aydın, delivered the opening speech.
Aydın said, "May God bless those who founded the OSTİM Cooperative in 1967. Ankara has risen to second place in industry in Türkiye. OSTİM was a critical point in Ankara's transformation from a city of civil servants to an industrial city in 1967. Those who came here then expanded their businesses here. OSTİM is where the firms in other Organized Industrial Zones started, flourished, and grew. OSTİM's ecosystem created infrastructure and pioneered new approaches. 90% of the firms located in Ankara's Organized Industrial Zones are OSTİM firms. They haven't closed their addresses here. OSTİM's development and transformation continues. We have a face that serves as an example for other regions. This is happening by touching the organizations and collaborations of the firms here."
Orhan Aydın, also providing information about OSTİM Technical University, pointed out that education and production are indispensable concepts. He stated, "The law for the university has reached the legislative stage in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Many of the problems in our country stem from a lack of education and production. Without these, we cannot solve any problems or compete with the world. Qualified personnel and production; we win the race with these. We are responsible for the things that should have been done for future generations but weren't."
