Speaking at the "Motor Power of the National Technology Initiative" panel, organized in collaboration with OSTİM Technical University, Enerji Bir-Sen, and the Technical Personnel Association (TEKDER), OSTİM Board Chairman and OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın addressed TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Akşit, saying, "To add strength to the power of the national engine, OSTİM, with its more than 6,500 companies, technopark, and more than 8,000 students, is at your service."
The opening speeches of the panel were given by Ali Yalçın, President of Memur-Sen; Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences; Hacı Bayram Tonbul, President of Enerji Bir-Sen; and Nurdoğan Öztürk, President of TEKDER.
During the panel discussion, TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Akşit gave a presentation titled "TEI and the Vision of the Defense Industry," explaining the importance of the defense industry and current developments. Akşit stated, "We broke the world altitude record with 37,500 feet. No one has ever taken a piston engine above 30,000 feet. This is what we call a world record. Our engine reached 37,500 feet. It's very rewarding to see the flight of an engine you designed yourself. Our engineers did a very solid job."
