OSTİM Technical University hosted the first TEDxOSTİMTech event, focusing on technology, innovation, and social transformation. Held under the theme "Back to the Future," the event reflected the university's visionary spirit and was filled with informative and inspiring moments.
In the event moderated by Gülden Aydın, 5 distinguished speakers shared their groundbreaking work and future visions in their respective fields with the participants.
The event, which began with an opening speech by OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, featured inspiring speeches from Microsoft Imagine Cup World Champion Zülal Tannur, who overcame technological barriers and developed artificial vision systems; dietitian and entrepreneur Elvan Odabaşı, known for her projects on health and social transformation; Prof. Dr. Uğur Batı, an expert in communication sciences and art management; Dr. Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı, Turkey's first domestic propolis producer and entrepreneur; and business administration professor and leadership expert Prof. Dr. Ünsal Sığrı.
This was realized with the support of the Defense and Aerospace Cluster, Medical Cluster, Rail Transportation Systems Cluster, Business and Construction Machinery Cluster, and Rubber Technologies Cluster within the OSTİM Ecosystem.
The theme "Back to the Future" aims to combine the knowledge of the past with the creativity of the present, building the future with sustainable and innovative solutions. In line with this vision, the speakers who took the stage shed light on different dimensions of technological and societal development.
At the end of the event, a time capsule was created in which participants shared their hopes and thoughts about the future. Sealed to be opened in 2035, the capsule will continue to inspire future generations.
