OSTİM, one of Turkey's established brands with over half a century of industrial history, will bring its expertise to its homeland, supporting the industrialization efforts of its friendly and brotherly country, Uzbekistan. A contract was signed between OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone and Ohangaron Tech Industrial under the title "Planning-Project, Ongoing Consultancy and Preparation of a Feasibility Report for the Copper Sector".
The agreement includes the following tasks: developing a business model in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, that is suitable to the country's socio-economic structure; presenting a suitable development model proposal for Tashkent in the medium term as a result of this study; conducting feasibility studies for the production of value-added copper products; preparing the zoning plans and infrastructure projects for the industrial zone according to this model; and carrying out the legislative work for the Organized Industrial Zone.
The online signing ceremony for the agreement was attended by OSTİM Chairman of the Board Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Board Member Mithat Ertuğ, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Audit Board Member Mehmet Alkan, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı, OSTİM External Relations Coordinator Hamza Akca, unit managers and cluster coordinators, as well as OSTİM Technical University Technology Transfer Office Director Dr. Gökhan Topal, on behalf of OSTİM; and by Ohandaron Tech Industrial General Manager Jamshid Khidoyatov, Ohandaron Tech Industrial executives, and a representative from the Ministry of Economic Development of Uzbekistan on behalf of Ohandaron Tech Industrial.
“We want to expand the reach of this study”
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı provided information about the contract process at the opening of the ceremony. He noted that during a recent trip to Uzbekistan, they had conducted on-site inspections regarding the details of the protocol and identified needs, adding, “We will undertake many great projects and initiatives after we begin working together. Furthermore, we don't want to limit ourselves to just that region; we want to expand this collaborative work.”

OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın pointed out that the agreement has a quality that binds hearts. Aydın shared the following thoughts: “It is valuable for us that this beautiful project, which we have been working on for some time and which our colleagues have examined on-site, and which we have also visited previously in Uzbekistan, is being realized. I pray to God Almighty that this cooperation between our institutions will be beneficial. This protocol is not only an economic protocol; it will also bind our hearts together, improve relations between our institutions, and be a starting point to take it to different areas with our Uzbek friends. We are signing this protocol with the intention of doing a good job by putting our hearts into this work with our entire team.”
Aydın emphasized that OSTİM clusters, Ostim Technopark, and OSTİM Technical University will also play important roles in the work that began with the protocol.
Jamshid Khidoyatov, General Manager of Ohangaron Tech Industrial, who signed the contract on behalf of the company, stated that reaching the contract stage was very important for them, saying, "Hopefully, this will be a beginning. I hope it will contribute to cooperation between the two countries."
