The main objective of the event, which aims to encourage entrepreneurship among young people, especially university students, and to promote entrepreneurship nationwide and instill an entrepreneurial culture in new generations, has been supported by OSTİM since its inception. In this year's final, OSTİM awarded the 50,000 TL prize to the AppVest team. Ostim Technopark and OSTİM Venture Capital Investment Fund were also among the partners of YFYİ 2022.
Speaking at the award ceremony, OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that as an institution, they have participated in numerous projects with Middle East Technical University since the past.
OSTİM: An Entrepreneurship Story
Aydın, emphasizing that OSTİM also originated from entrepreneurship, said: “We have been with this group since the beginning of this event. Therefore, I would like to state that we are extremely pleased. We have had partnerships with Middle East Technical University in many projects. Currently, a technopark of Middle East Technical University is operating in our region. The full form of OSTİM is Middle East Industrial and Commercial Center. There is also the Middle East in our name title. Therefore, we are very pleased to have been with you from the beginning of this endeavor. I wholeheartedly congratulate all the entrepreneurs who participated in this competition, whether they won an award or not. I would like to express my thanks to the METU Technopark team for hosting this event.”
OSTİM is also an entrepreneurial story. We represent a region that played a significant role in Ankara's industrialization, a region that nurtured companies in 12 Organized Industrial Zones when there was no industry in Ankara before, essentially raising them for the region. At the same time, representing our OSTİM Technopark, OSTİM Venture Capital Investment Fund, and OSTİM Technical University, we deemed it appropriate to award AppVest, one of the entrepreneurs competing here, because it relates to our region and the world of production.”
