Organized for the third time this year by the Career Planning, On-the-Job Training and Alumni Relations Directorate of OSTİM Technical University, the Career Days event brings students together with representatives from the business world.
Speaking at the opening of the event, OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek thanked the companies participating in the Career Days. Yülek stated, “We want our students to find employment within 3 months of graduation. The more our students invest in themselves and utilize the opportunities we provide, the faster they will reach their goals.”
“In Organized Industrial Zones, the OSTİM label is respected”
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of OSTİM Technical University, stated that OSTİM is a unique school for students. Aydın said, "We strive to teach and let them experience real life." Giving advice to students about working life, Aydın said: “You should be someone who can work anywhere, who isn't afraid of being unemployed, but rather someone the company is afraid of losing. Companies are looking for employees who take initiative, get things done, and achieve results. When you go to Organized Industrial Zones all over Turkey with the OSTİM label, they will definitely respect you. Any industrial company you go to in Ankara knows OSTİM. The OSTİM label will be useful to you at any company you contact. Never sever your connection and relationship with OSTİM. We are always by your side.”
Süleyman Ekinci, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OSTİM Industrialists and Businessmen Association (OSIAD), told the students that they should do their best in their jobs. Ekinci said, “We all have responsibilities to this country, and we must strive to fulfill them. If you fulfill your responsibilities, you will become sought-after personnel. This country is ours; we have no choice but to work and produce. Everyone should be aware of their responsibilities and do their best.”
During the program, Associate Professor Dr. İbrahim Demir, Deputy President of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), and Furkan Metin also offered advice to students on their career planning processes.
At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Aziz Akgül, a faculty member of the Business Administration Department at OSTİM Technical University and the founder of the Turkish Waste Prevention Foundation, also introduced the book "Statistical Analysis Techniques".
Human resources managers from more than 60 institutions/organizations and companies, including İŞKUR, OSTİM OSB Employment Office, Havelsan, Aselsan, TÜBİTAK, Roketsan, STM, Hidromek, Dora Makine, etc., provided students with information about recruitment and internship processes at their stands.
