OSTİMSPOR Club's first victory of the 2019-2020 season came from its U16 team. The Red and Blacks finished the regular season as champions in the U16 League Group 2.
The successful team won 12 of their 14 matches, losing only 2. OSTİMSPOR scored 38 goals while conceding 11. Finishing at the top of the table with 36 points, OSTİM secured their place among the 22 teams that will compete in the play-off matches.
“Playing sports under the roof of OSTİM is a privilege.”
OSTİMSPOR Club President Murat Kandazoğlu congratulated the technical staff and players of the U16 team, who achieved their first success of the season. President Kandazoğlu stated, "I congratulate my young football players, especially my coaches Hameş Şentürk and Süleyman Mersin, who worked hard and sweated for this success. I wish them success in the play-off matches. Of course, championships, cups, and medals are very important, but our priority is to be good people, and then good athletes. I also congratulate our team, which displayed a gentlemanly struggle this season without receiving a single red card. Doing sports under the umbrella of OSTİM, which contributes to the country's economy through production, creates tens of thousands of jobs, has its first industrial university, and undertakes many social responsibility projects, is a privilege. We will continue our struggle without ever forgetting this."
“We demonstrated excellent teamwork.”
OSTİMSPOR Technical Director Hameş Şentürk stated that their goal is to represent OSTİM in the Turkish Championship. Underlining their happiness at not letting down the support they received, Şentürk said: "We started our preseason preparations in July with our coach Süleyman. We demonstrated good teamwork. Despite the summer heat and the holiday, our players continued their training without interruption. We are a club that aims to develop good athletes rather than just achieve success. We strived to put up a fight worthy of OSTİM. We won our first 5 matches. We suffered our first defeat of the season in the 6th week. Ultimately, we finished the race 6 points ahead of Pursaklar Eğitim Gençlikspor. We always tell our players, 'Don't be too upset if you lose, and don't be too happy if you win. Congratulate your opponent in every result.' Now we have play-off matches ahead of us. The draw will be held today. We aim to be one of the 22 teams that will participate in the Turkish Championship.”
“We worked hard and we succeeded”
Coach Süleyman expressed his feelings in Mersin as follows: "We formed a new team. We competed with a group of 10 players who were given licenses for the first time. We are a team that came together in a short period of six months. We worked hard and succeeded."
Team captain Adil Efe Soykök expressed his happiness at winning the championship as follows: "We had goals at the beginning of the season. With the great support of our coaches, we believed and we succeeded. Now the play-off matches are next. Our goal is to participate in the Turkish Championship. I believe we will achieve this as well."
