A Turkish-Kyrgyz Business Forum was held at the TOBB Twin Towers with the participation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. Within the framework of the forum, a protocol was signed between the Ministry of Investment Promotion and Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic and OSTİM (the Turkish Exporters Association of Turkey) to establish organized industrial zones in Kyrgyzstan and to foster cooperation between technology development zones and universities.
With the protocol signed by Minister Almambet Shykmamatov and OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın, OSTİM's experience and expertise in the field of organized industrial zones will be transferred to Kyrgyzstan.
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın highlighted the strategic importance of collaborations between the two countries.
Expressing his satisfaction with cooperating with the friendly and brotherly country of Kyrgyzstan, Aydın said, “As OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, we are signing a beneficial protocol with Kyrgyzstan to cooperate in the organized industrial zone, technology development zone to be established in the country, and between our universities. I hope it will be beneficial for our region, our country, and humanity.”
Kyrgyz Minister Shykmamatov, who had previously visited OSTİM, was impressed by the region and expressed the following views about OSTİM: “I will prepare the necessary studies for the implementation of the OSTİM model and submit them to parliament. After the legal process is completed, the way will be opened for the work. The OSTİM model is a very strong and beautiful model; a great opportunity for the development of industrialists. We also consider it a model that will strengthen and develop the Kyrgyz economy.”
During the program, hosted by TOBB President and TOBB ETÜ Board of Trustees Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the TOBB ETÜ Honorary Doctorate was presented to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
