The OSTİM Model is Rising in Uzbekistan.

Within the scope of the Planning, Project and Continuous Consultancy Agreement signed between OSTİM OSB and Uzbekistan Ohangaron Tech Industrial, investments have begun to increase in the 140-hectare industrial zone planned by OSTİM. Production is targeted to begin in the region in December.

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate organized a trade delegation program to Uzbekistan with the support of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization). Within the scope of the OSTİM - Uzbekistan Trade Delegation Program, 38 company and public institution officials held bilateral business cooperation meetings with Uzbek businesspeople and public institutions in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara. The delegation also visited historical and cultural centers in Uzbekistan.

OSTİM businesspeople, who held sectoral cooperation meetings in a wide range of fields from automotive to medical industry, agriculture to textiles, machinery to tourism, got to know the commercial opportunities offered by Uzbekistan closely and established new business connections.

The program, organized by the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Directorate, was attended by Gökhan Topal, Lecturer and Director of the Technology Transfer Office at OSTİM Technical University; Dr. Derya Çağlar, General Manager of Ostim Technopark; and a delegation from OSTİM companies. They were also accompanied by Dr. Cahit Çelik, Secretary General of the Ankara Development Agency; Hasan Şenel, KOSGEB OSTİM Service Manager; Prof. Dr. M. Deniz Turan, Faculty Member of the Engineering Faculty at Fırat University; and experts from the Ankara Development Agency and KOSGEB.

Tashkent bilateral business meetings

Within the scope of the OSTİM-Uzbekistan Trade Delegation Program, 38 company and public institution officials held bilateral business meetings with Uzbek businesspeople in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Olgan Bekar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan; Islam Jasimov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Özgür Onur Özgüven, President of the DEIK Turkish-Uzbek Business Council; and Davut Azmi Erbaş, President of the Turkish-Uzbek Businessmen Association, also addressed the business people, drawing attention to the role of cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan in the development of the two countries.

Samarkand bilateral business meetings

The OSTİM delegation held bilateral business cooperation meetings with Samarkand businesspeople in coordination with the Samarkand Governorate, the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Samarkand, and the Samarkand Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The program was also attended by Feruz Abilov, First Deputy Governor of Samarkand Province; Salih Caner, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Samarkand; Nozir İbragimov, Deputy Governor of Samarkand responsible for Local Industry; and Jasur Şodiev, President of the Samarkand Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Bukhara bilateral business meetings

OSTİM businesspeople met with representatives from the textile, agriculture, tourism, machinery, and industrial sectors in bilateral business cooperation meetings held with the participation of the Bukhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bukhara Governorate Agro Free Economic Zone, and Bukhara businesspeople. During the program, Tilloev Furkat Farkhodovich, Director of the Bukhara Governorate Agro Free Economic Zone, and G'ulomov Ahrar Aminovich, President of the Bukhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented investment opportunities in Bukhara to the OSTİM delegation.

The OSTİM delegation visited Asadov Rizo Raupovich, the Deputy Governor of Bukhara. During the visit, Adem Arıcı, the Regional Manager of OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, provided the Deputy Governor with information about OSTİM.

Planned with the OSTİM Model, production starts in December

OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı, during the Uzbekistan program, provided information about OSTİM to the private sector and public institutions visited, and explained the organized industrial zone establishment works that OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone is carrying out with Uzbekistan Ohangaron Tech Industrial.

Adem Arıcı stated that in the planning studies for Ohangaron Tech Industrial, they envisioned a center that would support production facilities, strengthening the OSTİM model, and include all educational institutions from kindergartens to universities. Arıcı said, “We planned a technopark, social facilities, and a trade center. We planned small, medium, and large industrial areas. We carried out these plans anticipating future needs. We completed the planning and infrastructure projects. Land allocations were made accordingly.”

Within the scope of the agreement signed between OSTİM OSB and Uzbekistan Ohangaron Tech Industrial for the preparation of Master Plans for Implementation in the Area – including the preparation of land topographic surveys and the design of projects for rainwater, wastewater, natural gas and electricity infrastructure, OSB Law Study, Continuous Consultancy in the field of OSB management and administrative affairs, and the preparation of a Feasibility Report for the Copper Sector, land allocations have been completed in the 140-hectare industrial zone planned by OSTİM, and investments have begun to rise. Production is targeted to begin in the region in December.
