Turkish Ambassador to Muscat, Hekimoğlu: We want to initiate a process with OSTİM regarding Organized Industrial Zone projects in Oman.

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Muscat (Oman), Prof. Dr. Muhammet Hekimoğlu, who visited OSTİM, said, “The Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry was impressed by OSTİM during his visit last year. We want to establish contact with OSTİM regarding Organized Industrial Zone projects in Oman and initiate the process.”

The Ambassador met with OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın and provided information about the trade potential between Oman and Türkiye.

Ambassador Hekimoğlu, describing Oman as a country with no political problems and offering future commercial opportunities, said, "There is a high level of trust in Turkey and Turks in Oman. They admire the level of development that Turkey has reached."

Recalling the satisfaction expressed by Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, H.E. Qais Mohamed Al Yousef, and his delegation during their visit to OSTİM in November 2022, Hekimoğlu stated, "The Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion was impressed by OSTİM during his visit last year. We want to establish contact with OSTİM regarding Organized Industrial Zone projects in Oman and initiate the process."

OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they attach importance to developing relations with Oman. Explaining that they have shared information about the OSTİM model with more than 15 countries, Aydın said that they planned the Ohangaron Industrial Zone in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, using the OSTİM model and that the area has been allocated to investors.

Aydın, describing the institutions in the OSTİM ecosystem, said, “We need to be in contact with institutions and organizations in Oman that correspond to our university, technopark, clusters, and Organized Industrial Zone. We should also organize a trade delegation to Oman.”

The program was attended by Abdullah Çörtü, General Manager of OSTİM Yatırım A.Ş.; Serdar Marasalı, Finance Coordinator of OSTİM Foundation; Esma Akyüz, Foreign Trade Coordinator of OSTİM ODB; and Begüm Pektaş, Foreign Trade Staff.
