Pınar Yalman AKCENGİZ, Coordinator of the Ostim Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster, was in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, on December 10-11 to provide information about our cluster and to observe the work being done in the field of renewable energy in Denmark firsthand.
This meeting, held in Ostim, focused on sharing information about the clustering model and future goals, and also explored potential collaboration opportunities.
Following the energy crisis that Denmark faced in the 1970s, policies were developed to increase the use of renewable energy sources. With government support, efforts were made to achieve the set goals.
Denmark, which currently obtains 27% of its total energy consumption from renewable energy sources, aims to obtain 100% of its energy from renewable sources by 2050.
In line with these goals, Denmark places importance on clustering and has 55 cluster structures organized in different fields.
The trip, hosted by the Danish Trade Consulate, was attended by the Head of the Clustering Department of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, a representative from TÜBİTAK, a representative from the TÜBİTAK Mam Environmental Institute, representatives from the Izmir Development Agency, the Head of the Energy Commission of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, and representatives from the Cluster Management Board from Turkey.
