Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of OSTİM Technical University (https://www.ostimteknik.edu.tr/), thanked Mayor Mansur Yavaş and the municipality employees for the services provided to OSTİM during a visit where institutional collaborations between Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, and OSTİM Technical University were discussed.
Aydın stated that the OSTİM ecosystem and its companies are ready to contribute to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality projects, saying, “There is a significant ecosystem in Ankara in many industrial sectors, especially rail systems. The Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster (ARUS) can support Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's sectoral investments with its local and national teams. OSTİM, OSTİM Technical University, our clusters, and our companies, each expert and qualified in its field, can transfer their knowledge, design, and production to our Metropolitan Municipality.”
Orhan Aydın invited Mayor Yavaş to the 5th International Industrial Cooperation Days in Defence and Aerospace (ICDDA) (http://www.icdda.com.tr/), organized by the OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) (http://www.ostimsavunma.org/) and to be held at the Hacettepe University Beytepe Congress Center between October 13-15, 2020, and also to OSTİM.
OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek emphasized the institution's close connection to industry and production, highlighting its practical, real-world impact. Yülek stated that they would like to host Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and his bureaucrats at the university and various companies. He mentioned that their academic staff have produced numerous projects and that they could contribute to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in terms of urban solutions. Murat Yülek said, “We can collaborate on projects addressing the needs of our municipality. We invite you to OSTİM, to our university. We want you to see the capabilities of our companies up close.”
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş also touched upon infrastructure and asphalt activities in OSTİM. Giving the message that they want to reflect scientific studies in their services, Yavaş stated that their support for OSTİM, manufacturers, and universities will continue. Mansur Yavaş also added that he would be pleased to participate in the ICDDA event.
