Altındağ Mayor and AK Party Yenimahalle mayoral candidate Dr. Veysel Tiryaki, along with AK Party Yenimahalle District Chairman Süleyman Alper İnceöz and other executives, visited OSTİM.
Dr. Veysel Tiryaki, who held consultations with the OSTİM management, provided information about the services he brought to Altındağ during his term as Mayor.
“Ankara has incredible production capacity”
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın pointed out that OSTİM produces products and services that meet the needs of municipalities. Aydın highlighted the productive capacity of OSTİM's businesspeople in addressing Yenimahalle's social problems, particularly unemployment.
Aydın stated that a way should be found to enable people seeking employment to contribute to the country by being integrated into production, and emphasized that the solution lies in following ways and methods that will increase production.
Orhan Aydın, stating that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has nearly 50 sister cities worldwide, said, “Sister cities are very important for Ankara, and we can turn this to the benefit of both cities. Ankara has incredible production capacity. We can transfer these models to those cities. In transportation, from rail systems to buses, from energy to infrastructure and urban planning, our industrialists in Ankara can build a city from scratch. This can also be a model that will increase Ankara's economy and exports and reduce unemployment.”
“They are importing them from abroad because they don’t know what’s being done there.”
Altındağ Mayor and AK Party Yenimahalle Mayoral Candidate Dr. Veysel Tiryaki pointed out that the understanding of municipal administration in Turkey has changed in the last 15 years. Stating that municipalities should also provide services in many areas such as unemployment and education, Tiryaki explained that the practices in Altındağ Municipality serve as an example for many municipalities in Turkey.
The experienced politician stated that during his contacts abroad, he received requests from various municipalities regarding the supply of necessary equipment, and emphasized that Orhan Aydın's suggestions were very important.
Highlighting OSTİM's production capabilities, Tiryaki said, "As a municipality, we will not buy what we need from outside; we will use regions like OSTİM. I wanted to have a trailer made, but it wasn't sold in Turkey. They made 80% of the product I wanted here. Because nobody knows what's being made here, they import it from abroad."
