Deleting Fault Code (Dtc)

Deleting Fault Code (Dtc)

When a malfunction occurs in vehicles with the DTC system, this malfunction is recorded in the DTC system. It is expressed by a code that occurs in a letter and numbers with a fault record. This code is called the fault code. So why do we call it a DTC and not a fault code?

The first thing you need to know is the English spelling of the fault code is DTC. Thanks to this system, which stands for Diagnostic Trouble Code, when a malfunction occurs in a motor vehicle, it is recorded in the malfunction system. In addition to this, the engine fault lamp or, if there is one, the warning lamp belonging to the system itself will turn on on the instrument panel, informing you that there is a malfunction.

What is Check Engine?

Generally, the yellow engine fault lamp, if we are to pronounce it with its original name, the check engine can burn due to hundreds of different reasons and malfunctions. In this case, it is necessary to diagnose the malfunction and take the vehicle to an authorized service as soon as possible. In order to diagnose the fault and proceed to the replacement and repair process after that, all the problems in the Fault code (DTC clearing) panel of the vehicle should be handled carefully.

What Does the Obd System Do?

We should also add that a diagnostic test device, that is, a diagnostic device, must be connected to the OBD system in order to completely eliminate the malfunction of the vehicle. Because it is not possible to repair a vehicle from the Fault code (DTC clearing) panel alone.

Error-Fault Codes

Fault fault codes can be specified as OBD fault codes or DTC codes. These codes generally consist of one letter and 4 numbers. To give an example, P0010 DTC codes are the most common codes today. In addition, there are also malfunction codes that have DTC codes but are not commonly used.

If we give an example for this, the camshaft timer actuator fault, which is expressed with the P0010 DTC fault code, is also expressed with the 16394 code. However, as we said at the beginning, the use of these codes, in which letters are not written, is not very common.
