EGR Cancellation

Egr Cancellation

In this article we have prepared for you, we will answer all your problems by answering the question of what is EGR cancellation. Let's find out together what EGR cancellation is.

EDR stands for Exhaust Gas Racirculation, that is, if we express it in Turkish, it means Exhaust Gas Recycling. EGR, which is a valve in land vehicles and contains electropneumatic components, plays an active role in the circulation of gas in the exhaust. Therefore, the EGR, which damages the performance of the vehicle and over time due to corrosion, contamination and wear, also causes the vehicle to malfunction.

How Does EGR Work?

The fuel and oxygen sent to the cylinder combustion chamber burn at very high temperatures. In addition, it is not possible for NOx gas formation to occur at such high degrees. Therefore, an increase in emissions is inevitable.

The brain of the engine frequently opens and closes the EGR valve at certain intervals by interpreting data such as the load status of the engine and sensor values.

Therefore, when the EGR valve is open, some of the gas coming out of the exhaust manifold is sent back to the combustion chamber with the help of EGR. In this way, it significantly reduces the combustion temperature by reducing the oxygen content in it. At low combustion temperatures, NOx gases are not formed as much as before, and thus, the emission reduction process is realized and the vehicle is relieved.

In addition, when the engine is fully loaded, since performance is requested from the vehicle, the EGR valve is closed by the engine computer and stops sending exhaust gas to the combustion chamber. In this way, the combustion chamber, which is completely filled with oxygen, produces more power.

EGR Cleaning

The EGR valve can become contaminated by exhaust gases passing through it, causing a blockage. In terms of factors such as time, rust and soot that cause EGR malfunctions, the EGR assembly must be constantly cleaned. So how do we know when it's time to clean an EGR system?

First of all, if dark black smoke rises from the exhaust pipe, your engine stutters or does not start, and the engine temperature rises, understand that it is time to clean!

In addition to these, if there is still no improvement in the engine despite the cleaning process you have done, you should apply for EGR cancellation and update the software of your engine.
