OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAININGS

According to the regulation on the procedures and principles of the occupational health and safety training of the employees dated 15/05/2013, the forms of training that must be given in the workplaces have been determined.

ARTICLE 13 – (1) Occupational health and safety training of employees;

a) By occupational safety specialists and occupational physicians working at the workplace,

b) Employees, employers and public officials organizations or educational foundations established by these organizations and jointly established training centers, universities, training units of public institutions, professional organizations in the nature of public institutions, educational institutions authorized by the Ministry and joint health and safety units,

According to this regulation and according to the risk assessments made, a 1-year training plan should be prepared in the light of the dangers and risks.

Training periods and subjects

ARTICLE 11 – (1) The trainings to be given to the employees, within the periods determined during the employment of the employees and during the continuation of the work;

a) At least eight hours for less hazardous workplaces,

b) At least twelve hours for dangerous workplaces,

c) At least sixteen hours for very dangerous workplaces

arranged for each employee.

Educational subjects

1. General topics

a) Information on labor legislation,

b) Legal rights and responsibilities of employees,

c) Workplace cleanliness and order,

ç) Legal consequences arising from work accident and occupational disease

2. Health issues

a) Causes of occupational diseases,

b) Application of disease prevention principles and prevention techniques,

c) Biological and psychosocial risk factors,

d) First Aid

3. Technical issues

a) Chemical, physical and ergonomic risk factors,

b) Manual lifting and handling,

c) Protection from flash, explosion, fire and fire,

ç) Safe use of work equipment,

d) Working with display tools,

e) Electricity, its hazards, risks and precautions,

f) The causes of work accidents and the application of protection principles and techniques,

g) Safety and health signs,

ğ) Use of personal protective equipment,

h) Occupational health and safety general rules and safety culture,

i) Evacuation and rescue

Subject to the above titles as a basis, it is obligatory to be given on subjects to be determined according to the special risks of the workplace.
