Turning lathes working with computer support are known as CNC lathes. There are two basic axes in the CNC lathe. These axes; It is the Z axis that allows the cutter to advance the workpiece longitudinally and the X axis that allows the cutter to advance in diameter. CNC machines with more processing capabilities have C axis as well as X and Z axes. Milling operations are also performed on the part on a C-axis lathe.

The C axis can be at 0°- 30° - 45°- 60° - 90° positions to the workpiece. Its working principle is like a vertical head milling machine. The cutters used in the C axis rotate around their own axis just like the milling machine. The workpiece is then fixed at the desired angle. The cutter processes the part at the desired angle with a certain speed and progress. Operations of milling and machining center benches can be completed only on the lathe, without the need for another workbench. The production of the part is done by saving both time and labor.
