Trademark Registration Application Process

Before the trademark application is made, we or TPI investigates whether the same/similar applications are made.

After the Trademark Application is made, the Turkish Patent Institute conducts a shape examination (correctness of the Application Documents) and then a similarity search. These investigations take 4-5 months on average, and the applications that are found positive are announced in the Official Trademark Bulletin for a period of 3 months for the objection of third parties. Objections can be made within this period. If there is no objection, the registration decision is taken and registered with the Official Trademark newspaper.

The Trademark Application is concluded within 10-12 months from the application date, unless there is an objection.
Trademark protection period is 10 years. In case of renewal within 6 months at the expiry of the period, the protection will be extended for another 10 years.
