Physical and microbiological tests are performed together in steam autoclaves.

• First of all, the autoclave type should be determined according to the sterilization cycle.
• Autoclave sensors must be calibrated.
• A leak test is performed in the autoclave to determine whether there is any leakage.
• The Bowie & Dick test is performed to determine whether steam penetration occurs in porous loads.
• The physical performance of the autoclave should be seen by distributing the empty temperature.
• Product processes are validated with full studies (min. load and max. load) and repeated studies.
• Metal, glass, liquid, etc. as a load. materials should be studied in separate programs. Autoclaves without pre-vacuum should not be used for porous loads.
• Vacuum test, bowie dick test, monitoring with biological indicators should be done for routine monitoring.
