Floors: Floor slabs are level with the finished floor and are either hinged or removable to allow access to machinery spaces underneath. The comb plate is the part between the fixed ply and the movable step. It is slightly inclined downward so that the comb teeth can enter between the protrusions on the steps. The front edges of the comb teeth are below the surface of the protrusions. Landing:

The landing is a mechanical structure that connects the space between the lower and upper floors. The landing is essentially a hollow box consisting of two side sections joined by transverse clamps at the base and just below the top. The ends of the landing rest on concrete or steel supports.

Rails: The rail system is installed within the landing and guides the step chain that pulls the steps in an endless loop. There are two rails: one for the front of the step (step wheel rail), and the other for the rear wheel of the step (rear wheel rail). The relative position of these rails causes the steps to emerge from under the scallop plate, forming the ladder and then re-entering the landing. Back upstairs? it starts the rails moving in the opposite direction again by rotating the steps around the top. An upper rail keeps the rear wheels in place when the step chain is rotated back on itself.
