Valve jackets are among the products preferred in energy efficiency applications. The general purpose is to minimize the energy loss in hot lines and to prevent the heat gain of the system and condensation on the valve and installation surface in cold lines. Valve jackets are used in valve and installation groups (valves, strainers, traps, bare pipes, etc.).
Valve jacket fabric is generally siliconized glass fiber fabric. This type of fabric is durable up to 230 C. Different fabrics can be used up to 1000°C depending on the usage area. The insulation material used in the valve jacket differs according to the temperature and place of use. Aspen Aerogels brand Pyrogel XT product is used in hot lines, where thinness and water resistance are important. Pyrogel XT can be used at temperatures up to 650 °C. Apart from this, valve jackets containing needled glass fiber and rock wool with rabitz wire are also used. In order to prevent heat gain and condensation in cold lines, Aspen Aerogels brand Cryogel Z product with vapor barrier is used.
