explanation
Acoustic positioning of plastic pipes
Since plastic pipes are not electrically conductive, they cannot be positioned by the classical electromagnetic method. Another principle in pipe positioning is used by the acoustic method: pipes transmit mechanical vibrations better than the surrounding soil. Vibrations are transmitted over the soil and along the pipe to the surface, where they can be detected by means of a microphone (AQUAPHON®). As with the acoustic location of water leaks, the highest density indicates the position of the pipe. Basically, fiber cement or metallic pipes can also be positioned with this method.
System COMBIPHON® consists of central control unit generator G5 and various pulse generators.
service pipes
(Water or gas)
It is adjusted to vibration by means of the rammer. It hits the pipe from the outside like an electric sledgehammer. Pipes filled with gas or air are not always trouble-free as the conductive water column is missing.
Chain fastening for diameters up to 100 mm, weight: 1.8 kg.
Main pipes – water
It requires more energy to adjust to vibration. The water column is set for movement by removing water from the faucet. The water column closing device is limited at intervals by the stopper. The pressure waves created can be transmitted and positioned even over long distances.
Radio control of the generator G5
Ex. When positioning a service pipe, it is not necessary for the user to return to the coupling point to change the density. Although this is necessary as it is not possible to work with high intensity near house walls (noise pollution), more power is needed at longer distances. Transmission is possible outside up to 300 m and from the basement to ranges of approx. 30 m.

Finding acoustic plastic pipes
Principle
Plastic pipes cannot be located by conventional electromagnetic methods, because they are not electro-conductive. The acoustic method of pipe locating applies a different principle: pipes transmit mechanical vibrations better than the surrounding ground. When the pipe causes proper vibration where they can be picked up by a ground microphone, these vibrations propagate along the pipe to the earth. Likewise, water leaks where the intensity is high are located in the pipeline, as detected by acoustic means. This method can also be used to find fiber cement pipes and metal pipes.
COMBIPHON ® system consists of G5 Generator central control unit and various pulse generators. Therefore, it can be used anywhere.
G5 Generator Remote control
When finding home connections, intensity adjustment is unavoidable - for example, a high intensity is required over a large distance if it causes noise pollution near the generator. A remote control means that the user does not have to continue back to the generator.
Water or gas home service connections
Causes flickering using a Knocker. It constantly taps the pipe from the outside like an electric hammer. Gas or air filled pipes can sometimes be problematic as there is no transmitter water column.
water mains
Vibration requires more energy. The water column is activated by controlling the sound level using a hydrant stopper. The resulting waves are then propagated. The pressure inside the pressure pipe is controlled using a manometer to prevent sudden pressure. The sound can be detected from great distances.
acoustic pipe location
Positioning pipes with ground microphone
After the pipeline has been vibrated with a Knocker or Stopper, its location is determined using the ground microphone. This systematic includes testing the soil surface at short intervals. The AQUAPHON ® A 100 receiver displays an accurate visual and acoustic comparison of noise intensities. Does the noise pick up loud or soft?
The volume increases as you get closer to the vibrating pipeline. If the signal is concentrated directly on the pipe, then again the intensity starts to decrease. The visual display is particularly useful for novices or those who do not want to use the system frequently.
Hearing protection function
AQUAPHON ® A 100 fulfills all current occupational health and safety requirements. Adequate hearing protection is especially important. Unpleasant and sometimes even dangerous acoustic pressure in the past that occurs if the test rod's contact point has slipped, the earphones were activated too early or too late, or an object has fallen directly to the ground next to the ground microphone. This is now a thing of the past thanks to new technology. The incoming audio signal is constantly monitored. If the noise gets too loud, the sound passed by the headphones is muffled. If you keep getting the signals loud, the headphones are turned off. The AQUAPHON ® A-100 will automatically start working once the noise source goes quiet Recommend. The hearing protection function can be customized in various operational environments and for different users.
Filter Optimization function
The innovative filter Optimization function of the AQUAPHON ® A 100 makes it easier to accurately detect water leaks. This ground microphone is particularly useful in situations where a leak noise has been detected, but the exact location of the leak is difficult to determine due to noisy environment effects. The receiver records and analyzes a sound sample using the ground microphone. It then automatically switches to a suitable frequency range that specifically distinguishes clearly stray structure-borne noise. Analog minimum value for noise intensity at the current measuring point. Analog value for the noise intensity at the current measuring point.
microphones
Ground microphone BO-4 1 - Ideal for stable surfaces. The solid metal heating with a separate acoustic center can be adjusted with the unevenness of the floor for the best freedom of movement.
Ground microphone 3P-4 2 - used for unstable surfaces. A spike can be screwed onto for soft ground. The three legs always ensure stable contact.
As well as acoustic pipeline location, an A 100 can also be used for professional, electro-acoustic water leak detection. The A 100 receiver can also be used to locate metal pipe and glass fiber probes.
