Definition

The KATflow range of non-invasive flow meters uses ultrasonic technology for accurate flow measurement of liquids and liquefied gases in filled pipes.

The KATflow 150 is designed for permanent mounting in applications requiring advanced options and configuration. The flowmeter includes a variety of input and output options for a variety of measurement requirements.

Flow measurement is based on the principle that sound waves are affected by a current. The measurements are made by puncturing the tube with ultrasound and then clock differences, frequency variation and phase shifts of the ultrasonic signals when evaluated. This measuring technique has no effect on the flowing media. There is no pressure loss in the pipe and no wear on the components of the measuring device.

The ultrasonic sensor is thus clamped on the outside of the pipe, without the need to disconnect the pipe and interrupt the process. KATflow 150 can be applied to any type of standard pipe carrying clean or dirty liquids and liquefied gases.
