Description: Durability, besides strength, is one of the most important properties of concrete. It depends on the type of building and environmental conditions. Especially in road construction, high resistance to freeze-thaw cycles is of great importance and is therefore one of the most important criteria in the test. The CDF/CIF test ensures that the freeze-thaw test is performed in accordance with RILEM's CDF recommendations. The advantage of this test method is the very good reproducibility of the results given. With this test procedure, the amount of wear of a surface is measured over a series of freeze-thaw cycles. Thus, the test samples are placed in a sodium chloride solution to affect the surface. The result gives an estimate of the freeze-thaw cycle resistance for the concrete tested.
