Two different types of pools are used to manage the flow of heap leach solutions. For the purpose of separating the gold, loaded solution pools are used to collect the loaded solution before going to the ore preparation plant, and unladen solution pools are used where the uncharged solution coming after the separation process is collected before it is sent to the heap leach area for reuse. In addition, flood ponds are essential facilities in an ADR facility in order to ensure that the solution is collected in the pool with a gravity flow in case of heavy rain, power outage or pump failure.
