What is the purpose of VNTT-PRO?

The VNTT-PRO tester is designed to diagnose actuators (electric valves, DC motors) of VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbine) turbochargers. These actuators change the position of the turbocharger vanes, as in turbochargers where the turbine geometry is changed using vacuum.

Besides testing electronic turbochargers, the VNTT-PRO tester can be used to check variable geometry position sensors. These are found in turbines that use vacuum or pressure controlled pneumatic valves to change the geometry position. They allow reading of the variable geometry blade opening percentage.

What types of position sensors can be controlled with the VNTT-PRO?

The VNTT-PRO device allows you to control potentiometric sensors and inductive sensors (Hall) manufactured by:

Which turbocharger actuators does the VNTT-PRO tester support?

Device; It supports actuators manufactured by HELLA, SIEMENS, MITSUBISHI, SONCEBOZ, DENSO, MAHLE and HITACHI. The product range covers a significant part of the actuators currently used in the automotive industry.

Since when and for which brands are turbocharger actuators used?

Actuated turbochargers were introduced in 2003 and have since been widely used in car brands such as Audi, VW, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Jeep, Chrysler and others.

What can I control with the VNTT-PRO device?

The VNTT-PRO device allows you to control:

  • homogeneity of actuator arm movement,
  • arm traction resistance,
  • Actuator arm travel range,
  • Mechanical parts and actuator electronics,
  • DC motor used to change lever position in turbo actuators,
  • Accuracy of variable geometry range setting,
  • The accuracy of the variable geometry position sensor operation,
  • The accuracy of the operation of the internal temperature sensor (specific Hella units only),
  • Vacuum solenoid valve controlling the turbo actuator.

In the case of Hella and Siemens turbo actuators, the tester can also identify the actuator to identify which automaker the unit under test came from. As the turbocharger manufacturers state, the actuator is an integral part of the turbine and therefore cannot be repaired or replaced without replacing the entire turbine unit. With the VNTT-PRO tester it is sometimes possible to identify the cause of a simple turbocharger failure and then the user can try to repair it.

Who should use the VNTT-PRO tester?

The VNTT-PRO tester can be successfully used in businesses involved in the regeneration of turbochargers and in car garages that offer a wide range of repairs to diagnose the cause of turbocharger failure.

Are the original actuator connectors included?

The device contains original connectors for HELLA, SIEMENS, MITSUBISHI (for BMW), SONCEBOZ, DENSO, MAHLE and HITACHI turbo actuators.

For MITSUBISHI (For Ford / FSA) actuators there is a cable with universal terminals.

All connecting cables for the variable geometry position sensor are terminated with original connectors.

What kind of power supply is required?

The VNTT-PRO tester can be powered from a DC supply with 12 .. 15V output. The current capacity of the power supply must be a minimum of 4A.

The device is supplied with a dedicated DC power supply.
