Geothermal Drıllıngs

Geothermal drilling , which is a rapidly developing sector in Turkey in recent years, is carried out with scientific techniques. In addition to the technical methods that are developing day by day, it is also important to reach the correct data about the location where the well will be drilled. With the correct direction of this process, possible problems can be prevented in advance. Especially in the last 10 years, there have been continuous developments in the sector. It is mandatory to follow them.

Geothermal energy is the biggest factor in today's alternative energies in the world; It is clean, renewable, cheap, waste-free, environmentally friendly, easily produced and high-scale energy can be obtained in narrow spaces.

    Geothermal energy is becoming more and more common nowadays. Drillings made in order to reveal geothermal energy are carried out with a careful and meticulous study. The processes related to the construction of our company's geothermal drilling well are respectively

    1. WELL DEPTH AND DIAMETER
    The depth and diameters of the geothermal drilling well to be drilled vary according to the temperature change in the underground.

    1.1 In gradient sounding
    1.2. As a working well

    2. VERTICAL OF THE WELL
    In order to ensure the verticality of the well, it is essential that the drilling machine be wedged at full level at the beginning and during the continuation of the drilling. The drilling equipment required for vertical drilling of the well should be kept at the well site.

    3. DRILLING CIRCULATION MUD
    Drilling circulation fluid should be constantly checked at the wellhead to ensure that the drilling process is done in the best way and that the drilling fluid density is not more than necessary. The temperature of the drilling fluid should be measured at every 1 (one) meter and recorded in the leaflet. Bentonite and chemicals used in the liquid must comply with TSE-977 standards.

    4. SAMPLING
    Sediment samples should be taken at each layer change and at each meter advance in order to detect the layers passed during drilling progress. Half of the samples taken should be washed and the other half should be placed in the sample boxes in their natural state as they come out of the well and carefully preserved until the end of the work.

    5. WELL GEOPHYSICAL LOG PURCHASING
    After the end of the drilling process in the well, before the well is equipped, a geophysical log should be taken from the well for the precise determination of the layer levels that give hot water and cold water. These logs should be SP, resistivity and gamma-ray logs.

    3.6. EQUIPMENT
    If sufficient temperature is reached in the well, it is decided to move to the operation well and the drilling well is equipped with the appropriate diameters.

    6.1. If the water temperature in the well is below 70 C, spiral welded sheet metal pipe
    6.2. If the water temperature in the well is above 70 C, casing pipe should be used.

    7. Isolation
    Layers containing water, which are not suitable for use in terms of geothermal temperature, should be isolated with cement grout and cold water entry into the well should be prevented.

    8. WELL DEVELOPMENT
    8.1. The well, which is drilled with a rotary drilling machine and the circulation fluid is covered on the well wall, should be washed with clean water.
    8.2. After the completion of the well construction, the well should be developed with a compressor. The capacity of the compressor should be at least 32 bar.
    8.3. The development process should be continued until clear water comes out of the well and for at least 48 hours.

    9. WELL NOSE
    After the development process, the well construction should be completed by making 3x3x0.5 m well mouth concrete in a way to center the drill pipe.
