As stated in Article 180 of the General Hygiene Law , workplaces with at least 50 employees are required to have an occupational physician, a patient room in compliance with the law, and first aid supplies for the health and treatment of employees.

In places such as infirmaries, shopping malls, schools, military zones and business centers, they are rooms where basic medical interventions can be performed and patients can be kept under surveillance, and some medical devices and first aid supplies are available. It has been made compulsory by law in some places where people are in mass. These can be listed as shopping malls, schools, workplace health and safety units (OSGB) established in certain sized workplaces or joint health and safety units (OSGB).
Performing first aid procedures and basic medical interventions often prevents larger health problems from occurring. Often times it can be lifesaving. It is very important to make the right interventions with medical products until the injured or sick person arrives by an ambulance or is taken to a health institution. Thanks to these materials kept in the infirmary , the first aid needed can be provided more easily. The infirmary also ensures that the patient can rest and be kept under surveillance.

Note 1: In units where more than one workplace physician works together, the above medical devices and materials (a) to (h) items (including item h) are kept separately for each workplace doctor.
Note 2: Units take the necessary precautions against fire, take the necessary precautions for medical wastes and garbage in accordance with the provisions of the Medical Waste Control Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 22/7/2005 and numbered 25883.
