INTRODUCTION

The EG-31 Line Gun is a mechanical device used to pass a short-circuit conductor over the lines in order to discharge the static loads on the lines, whether there is voltage on the power transmission lines.

STUDY

Line Rifle crosses a fine-braided cable with one end grounded over the line with the mechanical spring force, connects it with the phases of the line and discharges the static loads on the lines, as long as the wire does not break, there is no voltage on the line. It also discards the short-circuit conductor.

USING

The rope of the rifle is opened from its reel and laid on the ground, one end of the rope is connected to the grounding stake, which is driven in the direction perpendicular to the line route, half of the line height from the route projection. The other end of the rope is pulled to the opposite side of the pile at a distance equal to the line height and laid on the ground neatly. The rear tension screw is tightened to the line height ratio. The maximum height is 18 meters in full tightening (The thread of the tensioning screw should be in the open position by 3 cm). The harpoon is attached to the barrel, the tip of the harpoon rests on a hard ground and the rifle is pressed to the ground in a vertical direction, thus, when the rifle spring is released, the force is removed from the harpoon and the harpoon is released. While setting up, the harpoon and the barrel are kept in the same direction to prevent the harpoon from tilting. The barrel of the spring loaded rifle is lifted up, while the harpoon is released. After the rifle is held in the shooting direction, the harpoon is slowly inserted into the barrel until it touches the bottom. The other end of the rope is attached to the harpoon and the harpoon is thrown by pulling the trigger, the rope connected to the harpoon passes over the line and the harpoon falls to the ground. In the meantime, if there is tension on the line, the rope melts and falls down by emitting a light and smoke at the point where the rope touches the line with the effect of the arc. If there is a static load on the line, there will be a harmless arc at the point where the rope contacts the line and the discharge ends. Life safety will not be ensured in lines that are short-circuited by the rifle rope. If the line is to be worked on, the line must be secured by grounding with line grounding equipment. Since the rope of the rifle is much thinner than the cross section of the line, the line is not damaged during the arc. The rifle has 2 harpoons, 2 30-meter ropes wound on a reel.

The rifle should always be stored in a dust-free and damp place in the package.
