All types of polyamides are referred to under the chemical designation NYLON. It is a material with very good mechanical strength. Its chemical resistance is not very strong. It has resistance to some acids and bases. It has a very high water and moisture absorption rate. Therefore, it undergoes dimensional change. Care must be taken with precise tolerances. It has resistance to instantaneous impacts and vibrations due to moisture absorption, so dynamic stresses are eliminated in the body.
