The system basically performs the test that determines the standard thermal power of the water-fed heating devices.
It provides all the necessary conditions to perform the thermal power test specified in the EN 442-2 standard.
Equipment in the System;
The test is done in a special cabinet defined by the standard. This cabinet has a fixed dimension (4m wide) x (4m long) x (3m high). 5 of the 6 surfaces of the stand are cooled with water to adjust the temperature inside (the wall behind the tested radiator is not cooled). To avoid misleading test results, the cabinet is completely enclosed and not ventilated. Each surface consists of 4 panels. Each panel has two corrugated pipe structures for water flow. The panels are made of stainless steel and all dimensions of the panels are in the form defined in the standard.

(4m) x (1m) Panel 4 x 2 = 8

Inside the cabinet, there are temperature probes to measure the room temperature in the places specified as standard, and the inlet/outlet hot water pipe connections of the radiator.
The main purpose of this unit is to cool/heat the water and to feed and collect it back to the cabin walls. There is a chiller, two adjacent water tanks and electronic/electromechanical equipment such as pumps and inverter for each pump. The installations between the units and the cooling system cabinet are made of stainless steel and thermally insulated.
The specially designed unit delivers the temperature of the water to the radiator under test to provide hot water. The unit contains two tanks. The flow is precisely controlled to ensure a constant flow rate. A precision balance weighing method is used to measure the flow rate of test results. In addition to the weighing method, a high precision flow meter is also used.
Sensitive temperature probes and a datalogger are used to measure the temperature.
PC software is the main control unit of the whole system. The software checks the start conditions, start/stop times of each test cycle, records the measurement result data, and finally calculates and processes the "thermal power (Φ)" value, which is the purpose of the whole test. The software is fully automated and can perform the entire test with minimal user commands. Data such as radiator inlet/outlet water temperatures, radiator flow rate, room temperature are adjusted fully automatically in accordance with user specifications. The test software connects directly with the automatic report generation software capable of solving the equations in the standard's Annex C (Characteristic Equation) and Annex D (Regression Equation).
