The pulley is the machine element that transmits power and motion between two shafts by means of belts. The pulley shapes change according to the belt shape used. V-belt pulleys are used with cloth rubber V-belts. This type of pulleys are made as single or multi-channel. The number of channels is proportional to the power they will carry. As the pulley diameter gets smaller, the belt life decreases. The longevity of the belt is directly proportional to the selection of the pulley.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE BELT

  • Make sure that the pulleys are on the same axis during assembly. Otherwise, the belts will deform and break in a short time. Pay attention to the harmony of the belt and the pulley. Especially in small width belts, there may be an optical illusion.
  • Never use a crowbar, etc. during assembly. In this case, you may break the edge ropes of the belt or damage the belt tracks of the pulley.
  • The tension of the belt should be adjusted at an anti-slip rate.
  • Even if the V-belts used in multiple pulleys are the same brand, it should be paid attention to the same length by paying attention to the production year and series. Otherwise, the belts may not be the same length as there will be a difference in the pattern. For this reason, the power is not evenly distributed to the belts even though they are on the same pulley. Belt carrying too much load breaks.
